Luanne, yes the gas pumps that had globes on top most of them did lite up, and I remember your families gas station from when I was little, my Dad use to stop there all the time in early forties. Great pictures and memories for you.
Those old gas pumps with the globes are beautiful. They probably were more difficult to take care of (making sure the light didn’t go out) and took more power. And maybe they broke easily? But it shows how we became more and more utilitarian and less apt to make beauty out of practical objects. So cool that you used to go to Grandpa’s station!!!
